Academic Profiles and Research Metrics: Building and Tracking Progress, Sept 11, 2020
Academic profiles (Scopus, Google Scholar, Publons, ORCID) and research metrics are increasingly relied on for the evaluation of researchers whether as individuals or part of a team. In this presentation, Vanessa Kitchin and Dean Giustini from UBC Libraries gave an essential overview of the most relevant academic profiles, how to curate your profile and how to use tools available from UBC. Following this, Dmitriy Ryabika (VPRI) gave a demo of the use of SciVal to provide metrics on teams of researchers building on each individual’s curated profile.
